Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Cloud/DevOps Systems Administrator in Herndon, VA to join our National Programs Intelligence Systems & Applications Operating Unit in support of the SITE III JIOC contract. This role is crucial in orchestrating, sustaining, and enhancing a suite of applications that drive Collection Management, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and intelligence operations.

As a key contributor, you will ensure system reliability, scalability, and security by leveraging cloud services, DevSecOps best practices, and platform integration. Your expertise will directly impact intelligence analysts, operations, and collection managers across Combatant Commands, ensuring seamless data collection, correlation, and dissemination.

Key Responsibilities
    Oversee multi-user computer systems in coordination with network engineers to ensure seamless operation.
  • Monitor and optimize system resources to maintain peak efficiency.
  • Manage security administration, including user profiles and access controls.
  • Provide Tier 3 technical support for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Configure and maintain operating systems, software installations, system hardening, storage allocation, and performance tuning.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions, recommend hardware/software acquisitions, and coordinate installations.
  • Implement and enforce computing resource policies and security standards.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience, OR, Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, OR PhD with 3+ years of experience. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Security Clearance: Must hold a minimum TS clearance, willing to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph (TS/SCI with polygraph required to start).
  • Systems Administration: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience administering Linux or CentOS systems.
  • Container Orchestration: Experience with Docker Compose, Kubernetes, or OpenShift for containerized workloads.
  • Cloud & Platform Management: Proven experience with AWS Elastic, OpenShift, and GreyMatter for Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments.
  • Database & Application Support: Ability to maintain Java, PHP, Python applications running on PostgreSQL or Oracle databases.
  • Scripting & Automation: Experience writing scripts for monitoring system services, log analysis, and resource management.
  • Security & Compliance: Hands-on experience with ACAS, STIG compliance remediation, or equivalent security tools.
  • Certifications: Must be DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant, holding Security+ CE, GICSP, or SSCP certification.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience managing AWS compute, storage, networking, and security services in a government setting.
  • Proficiency in Linux command-line operations, shell/bash scripting.
  • Current polygraph clearance.
  • Certifications: Linux+, RHCSA/RHCE, VMware Certified Professional, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and implementation.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
