Overview

The Electric Boat Information Technology Department Business Applications Group assists the Design, Engineering, Planning and Operations along with the other supported communities by investigating problems and providing solutions with a focus on Teamcenter/NX, CATIA/CDM as well as downstream applications.

This position works directly with the end user community and several external vendors (IT Vendors) and is expected to quickly and accurately respond to user concerns by thoroughly defining the issue, engaging all people and equipment necessary, determining the best course of action, reporting to all levels of management and taking all necessary action to implement solutions.

This position is responsible for ensuring the assets under their cognizant are maintained up-to-date with current software and have the ability to access the various test environments and production environments utilized by Electric Boat.

    Gather end user requirements for testing and configuration of assets and testing environments, assist with the development of training bulletins and provide targeted support for new or enhanced software applications.
  • Enable productivity by providing application support, tool and process automation, and testing to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Be highly adaptive in providing solutions to user issues reported when accessing and testing on assets and environments responsible to maintain
  • Work effectively across multiple sites and functions as well as remote teams and peers
  • Assist the team by providing support to facilitate and manage the successful transition of changes required to support all aspects of projects using and relying assets under their cognizance.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Associates Degree
  • 2+ years of Information Technology experience
  • 2+ years of PC and Server Environment experience
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Experience with PC Maintenance
  • Experience with PC Environment Changes
  • Experience in the maintenance and configuration of Desktop PC's including but not limited to:
    • Software versions and configuration
    • Correct deicers i.e. printer, monitor, etc.
    • Consistency of desktop software deployments
    • Researching compatibility of desktop software with upgraded applications

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Basic Application Troubleshooting techniques
  • Microsoft Office Experience (Access, Outlook, Word and Excel)


Skills

  • Experience working with Vendors and end user population
  • Experience with troubleshooting methodology
  • Ability to multitask
  • Exceptional communication skills
