Position Title: Staging/Kitting Specialist - Contractor

Reports to: Kitting and Tool Supervisor

Department: 060190-Planning & Control

Position Summary: This job consists of: staging, expediting, kitting, and shipping materials, stocking KanBan bins, removing dunnage from the production floor, and assisting the tool crib attendants.

Primary Responsibilities:

Staging and Kitting Materials: 50%

  • Receive materials from the warehouse and verify quantity and certifications
  • Match materials to production order bill of materials and templates
  • Stage and Kit materials for onsite delivery or external shipment based on the kitting master schedule

Stocking KanBan: 20%

  • Checking bins daily for refill needs and picking parts through the SAP system
  • Receiving materials from the warehouse and filling bins

Tool Crib Duties: 30%

  • Provide support to the Tool Cribs as needed
  • Check and prepare carts for daily use
  • Perform tool checks as required
  • Order and retrieve materials from outside vendors and the AHI warehouse

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Organizing and planning between Shop Floor Control, Warehouse, and Production areas. Communicate and troubleshoot material issues. Process AOG requirements as needed. Maintain any required reporting systems.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Experience:

Required:

  • 1-2 years of experience with material Staging and Kitting
  • 1-2 years of experience with Tool Room management

Preferred:

  • Forklift experience
  • SAP experience

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

Required:

  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of aircraft parts and quality requirements

Communication Skills (Spoken, Written, Influencing, Proficiency in Other Languages):

  • Requires ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Ability to use mainframe and PC computers, and associated hardware and software (MS Office especially Excel and Word), SAP MRP system (Module MM, PP, Outlook).
  • A strong knowledge of technical terms.
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts and documentation

Job Dimensions, Contributions to Success:

This person directly affects the success of production and kitting schedules by delivering materials in a timely manner. This person provides required support to insure Tool Rooms are open to internal customers while remaining compliant to procedures.

Nature of Contacts:

This person must communicate daily with all supporting departments and internal customers

  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings Daily
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms Daily
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily
  • Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Daily
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs Daily
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs Daily
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. Daily
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer. Daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving. Daily
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor. Daily

  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces. Daily
