Claims Functional Leader / Supervisor

Location: 1111 19th St, NW, 10th Floor, Washington, DC 20036
Salary: $75k - $80k , depending on experience
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401k benefits available
Hours: Hours of Operation: 7:45 AM -5:00 PM, Eastern Time, Monday - Friday. Candidate must be able to work any assigned 8-hour shift between these hours

Job Description
* Assists in carrying out the duties of the Provider/ Claims Operations Manager and serves in place of manager's absence for medical claims-related work
* Supervises functions for medical claims control and entry, suspense/resolution, medical claim adjustments, and claims appeal support
* Monitors workflow and departmental productivity
* Runs reports and performs quality control functions
* Oversee a team of medical claims adjusters, providing guidance and support
* Ensure the timely processing of medical claims
* Serve as the Subject Matter Expert during both ramp-up and steady-state phases
* Train, track and remain knowledgeable of project changes
* Train staff on a as needed basis to remain updated on project and process changes
* Resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
* Analyze performance to identify opportunities and trends
* Ensure medical claims are processed according to client, company, and project standards
* Maintain open communication with internal and external leadership
* Coach, motivate and develop employees to improved performance
* Adhere to policies, processes, and procedures
* Conduct staff meetings and huddles as established by the project
* Identify and report potentially fraudulent activity
* Conduct quality monitors and provide timely feedback
* Ensure and maintain proficiency with each of the project tools and systems
* Maintain detailed documentation of all, client, customer, and employee interaction
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless experience
Pre-requisites:
* High School Diploma or equivalent, 2-year post-high school Degree, or Bachelor's degree.
* Typical, 2-4 years of working experience in related fields
* A minimum of two years of previous experience for a government or private sector inbound customer service center or related field.
* Knowledge of basic help desk software, computer software and Microsoft Office applications.
* Problem-solving skills to bring inquiries to effective resolution.
