Job Title: Engineering Co-Op

Department/Group: Engineering

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Reports to: Continuous Improvement Manager

FLSA Status: Hourly

Summary of Objective:

The Engineering Co-Op will support the Philadelphia Engineering team in a wide variety of technical projects across Process Engineering, Project Engineering, and Reliability Engineering. The Engineering Co-Op is a 6-month assignment; based in the Spring through Fall 2025

Local residents of the Philadelphia tri-state area highly preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with product launches including drafting and executing engineering test protocols.
  • Draft and execute change documentation.
  • Create equipment setup sheets, rapid changeover guides, troubleshooting guides and standard work documents.
  • Assist with equipment troubleshooting and performance improvement.
  • Assist with equipment commissioning projects.
  • Maintain and improve Engineering technical databases and tools.
  • Provide production support and hands on experience with packaging equipment.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules.
  • Attendance to work is an essential function of this position
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Required:

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • College Level Mathematical Skills
  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.
  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
  • Very High Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.

Preferred:

  • Ability to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
  • Ability to work independently and/or part of a team.
  • Ability to display excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to set and achieve challenging goals.
