Job Title: Software Developer Engineer

Location(s): Seattle, WA

Prime Air is developing autonomous aerial vehicles for rapid package delivery. As a software developer focused on quality and testing, you will work with cutting edge technologies while improving the reliability and manufacturability of the imaging sensors incorporated in these vehicles. In this position you will actively implement unit/reliability/stress tests and test frameworks, extend existing code, and develop new software. You will own the vision for test infrastructures, build frameworks that allow developers to easily write reliable tests, and invent new mechanisms which ensure our perception sensors both individually and as product classes, meet specifications and reliability goals.

All these proficiencies are required for this role:


  • Excellent Python development experience.
  • Strong experience in developing on and for Linux platforms.
  • Proficiency with standard SW engineering tools and best practices, e.g. git, JIRA/Confluence.
  • Experience with cloud and docker development environments.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years professional experience as a Software Development Engineer.
  • Demonstrated experience in test framework design and development.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining web API applications.
  • Familiarity with end-to-end web design tools, e.g. fastapi, node, react, typescript, posgresql.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Basic understanding of cameras, sensors, and image characteristics.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with experience in an SDET role.
  • Coding experience with automated testing frameworks, tools, services, and physical devices.
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
  • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly.
  • DevOps management skills, especially in cloud platform data ingestion, coding, and authentication.
