POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director for Mission Technologies (SD/MT) is a key senior leadership role within the Mission Support Services (MSS) division, responsible for the acquisition, development, sales, and management of mission-critical technologies. This role is instrumental in enhancing Constellis' business lines across the enterprise, including both Mission Support Services (MSS) and Global Security Services (GSS).

The SD/MT will oversee, create and manage advanced technical solutions such as the Layered External Security Operations (LEXSO) program, Counter/Unmanned Aerial Systems (C/UAS), Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), and other mission-enhancing technologies. The position requires deep technical expertise in developing and integrating software and hardware solutions to enhance operational effectiveness in security and mission-critical applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Technology Development & Integration


    • Lead the research, design, and development of mission-enhancing software and hardware integrations for security applications
    • Oversee the integration of sensor systems, automation platforms, AI/ML solutions, and networked security technologies into operational environments
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop custom software applications, embedded systems, and secure communication protocols for mission-critical deployments
    • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including IoT security devices, edge computing, and advanced analytics platforms to enhance mission capabilities



  • System Architecture & Implementation


    • Develop and oversee end-to-end system architecture for advanced security technologies, ensuring seamless hardware/software compatibility
    • Lead field deployment efforts, ensuring that mission technologies meet operational needs and comply with regulatory requirements
    • Establish technical standards and best practices for systems engineering, cybersecurity measures, and real-time data integration



  • Technical Leadership & Innovation


    • Drive innovation in mission technologies by identifying and implementing cutting-edge solutions in security and defense sectors
    • Engage with R&D teams, vendors, and technology partners to develop advanced mission support tools
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams and field operators working on mission technology programs



  • Sales & Business Development


    • Support business development efforts by designing technical solutions aligned with client needs and mission requirements
    • Work closely with proposal teams to develop technical scopes, proof-of-concept demonstrations, and system specifications for contract pursuits
    • Conduct technology briefings, client demonstrations, and feasibility studies for potential customers and partners



  • Operational & Compliance Oversight


    • Ensure that all mission technology solutions comply with regulatory, security, and operational standards
    • Establish policies, procedures, and best practices for technology deployment in high-security environments
    • Collaborate with internal departments (Legal, Compliance, Security, etc.) to ensure seamless integration of mission technology into company operations

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline;
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mission technology development, hardware/software systems integration, and operational technology solutions
  • Expertise in sensor integration, LiDAR, embedded systems, and real-time data processing
  • Strong proficiency in Python, C, C++, and CAD software for designing, simulating, and integrating technical solutions.
  • Experience working with automation platforms, SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), AI/ML-driven security solutions, and industrial software for detection and inspection systems.
  • Proven ability to architect, simulate, and integrate peripherals into security and surveillance systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware and software debugging, field testing, and technical documentation.
  • Strong background in developing, evaluating, and deploying mission-critical sensor systems and force protection technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams, including engineering, operations, sales, and client management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical solutions to executive leadership and clients.
  • Active security clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Extensive travel is required
  • Must be able to lift, lower, carry, push or move objects up to 25 lbs. Various tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sitting, and the ability to walk, reach, kneel, crouch and handle work related supplies and tools


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working within the commercial realm of technology and advanced security solutions
  • Deep understanding of counter-drone technologies, RF communications, and security automation solutions
  • Expertise in factory automation system design, hardware fabrication, and product development
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct technical analysis, generate test reports, and provide data-driven insights for decision-making
  • Experience managing large-scale defense technology contracts and high-security deployments
  • Experience in security-based technologies, including surveillance, access control, perimeter defense, and cyber-physical security solutions

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday standard core hours, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
