TITLE: Lead Shipping/Receiving Clerk POSITION OBJECTIVE: To coordinate and oversee all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation, proper inventory management, and efficient distribution of goods. This role is responsible for maintaining organized records and working closely with warehouse staff to optimize workflow and meet company logistics objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education - High School Graduate required. Associate's degree or college level course work preferred.
- Experience - Pervious work experience in a shipping and warehousing operations preferred.
- Previous work experience in office setting required.
- Computer and Clerical - Proficiency using basic computer operations - data entry, working through vendor websites, use of Excel to produce worksheets and recording/reporting data.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, email, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology. Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer software.
- Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Logistics - Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by rail, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
- Mathematics - Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
- Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
- Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examine contents and compare them with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, manifests (Grainger) bills of lading, re-consignments and shipping orders to route materials.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, and damages (return authorizations) and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
- Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Deliver or route materials to departments.
- Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter. Handle shipments via United Parcel and Fed Ex ground.
- Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damage, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications. RA Log
- Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Contact the carrier representative to plan and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials/container deliveries.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:
MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, ELECTRONIC DEVICES & SOFTWARE:
- Proficiency in Excel required
- Accuracy in data entry

VISUAL ACTIVITY REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:
- Vision - the ability to see details at close range. The ability to see in low light conditions.
