We are seeking a Junior Engineer.

Duties & Responsibilities:

ESN is looking for Junior Engineers to fill various position(s) in support of our Navy Surface Warfare Center (NSWC-PHD) client. We are seeking motivated individuals to provide technical and engineering support. Assists in the development of project scope, engaging with senior engineers and program managers to identify key requirements, objectives, and deliverables. Coordinates effectively with technical staff and other departments to gather essential input for design documentation and project planning, ensuring all perspectives are considered. Responsible for supporting basic project scheduling, tracking progress against deadlines, and ensuring timely updates are provided to project managers regarding deliverables and milestones. Utilizes a foundational understanding of engineering principles and practices to assist in the review of design documents for compliance with established technical and regulatory criteria.

Engages actively in quality assurance processes by conducting preliminary assessments of project outputs, documenting findings, and drafting reports to outline compliance with project requirements. Aids in the identification and analysis of potential risks, contributing suggestions for basic mitigation strategies that can be implemented throughout the project lifecycle. Maintains organized project documentation, facilitating easy access for team members and stakeholders to promote efficiency and transparency in operations. Collaborates with other engineers to understand and apply established methodologies and best practices related to software/hardware systems, while taking on specific, defined tasks within broader project efforts.

Qualifications:

The position requires an understanding of project engineering, especially in combat system issues. Knowledge in the design,

development, operation, and analysis of combat and weapon systems is necessary, gained through education and experience. This

includes familiarity with combat systems, basic computer specifications, and new technologies in weapons and sensors. Strong

grasp of engineering concepts is vital.

Education Requirement:



  • BS degree in engineering, computer science or another relevant field.


Other Job-Related Requirements:



  • Travel may include to shipyards, aboard and underway on Navy ships.


Security Clearance:



  • Must hold an active DoD SECRET clearance or at a minimum an Interim SECRET clearance.
