The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure-track Lecturer in Speech-Language Pathology position. Responsibilities include supervision of graduate students in clinical practice in on-and off-campus sites including direct supervision of student interactions and evaluation of student performance. Duties will include teaching discipline-related courses and treatment of clients with voice disorders in the clinical setting. The candidate is also expected to participate in departmental committee structure and engage in clinically-related professional activities such as innovative clinical program development, research collaboration with other faculty, and participation in professional activities representing the department at local, regional, and national levels. The university has a career ladder for lecturers allowing lecturers who demonstrate sustained outstanding performance at the lecturer level to go up for promotion to senior lecturer after a minimum of five years.
The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and has approximately 285 undergraduate majors, 50 graduate majors in speech-language pathology, and 40 doctor of audiology students. Presently, the department has 18 full-time faculty positions. (10 PhD, 3 AuD, and 5 Master's level.) The program offers a Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology with and without a thesis option. The department also offers a professional Doctor of Audiology degree and the Bachelor of Science in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. The clinic website is

Auburn University has numerous university-wide and College of Liberal Arts intramural grant opportunities available for junior faculty to assist establishment or growth of research lines.

Minimum Qualifications |
Meet
ASHA certification standards for clinical instruction, including but not limited to a Master's degree at the time of employment in speech-language pathology,
CCC-
SLP, 3-5 years of clinical experience, ability to supervise cases across all communication disorders areas and potential for Alabama license.
The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills for clinical instruction are required. |
