Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Unit Administrator/Specialist Casual for the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy. The position will provide general logistical support, troubleshooting, assist in scheduling, and set up/teardown of simulation equipment at the School of Pharmacy to support single and multi-disciplinary simulations for the novice to expert healthcare learner.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Provides routine and preventative maintenance of simulation equipment, performs software updates, updates inventory management systems, and manages media recordings.
- Assists in the orientation of faculty, staff, and guests to simulation facilities, equipment, and programs.
- Assists in the development and organization of tours, exhibitions, grant development, and potential cooperative opportunities with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides basic clinical expertise to users in the design of scenarios and in training sessions to prepare routine simulations and project participation in major initiatives as assigned, including but not limited to simulation project design, technical needs outlines, workflow arrangements, and teaching device innovations (3D printing), etc.
- Assists with CAE Learning Space, including simulation of a drug inventory and formulary quantities, case entry and data reporting, and student data/roster entry for courses.
- Inputs and maintains data in learning management system.
- Accesses and transmits data in support of reports and presentations.
- Serves as a standardized patient (acting/conversing) as needed.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience involving educational activities in a healthcare environment, 1 year of which was in a patient care clinical setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Ability to operate computer and software platforms used in healthcare simulations.
- Basic knowledge of human anatomy, basic understanding of adult learning theory and application. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective interpersonal skills are a must. Ability to work independently when assigned, in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic knowledge of business software and willingness/interest in learning to use new technologies, including software.
- Understand human simulation technology capabilities and limitations of simulation environment.
