Overview

SRI is looking for a summer intern to support ongoing work in the Ocean Modeling group in Ann Arbor, MI. The individual will gain real world experience while supporting on-going research and development in ocean and river modeling, numerical analysis, and algorithm development. Candidates will get to apply and extend skills in various domains such as software development and algorithm implementation and assessment, including UAS-based on-board processing, to ocean modeling applications.

The intern will work on-site in the Ann Arbor office.



Responsibilities

Interns will be expected to assist in algorithm refinement and implementation on differing computing architectures while augmenting algorithm concepts through modelling and simulation via Python and/or Matlab (and possibly FORTRAN) programming. Preparation of reports and presentations may also be required.



Qualifications

    Current undergrad student majoring in a math, science, computer programming or engineering discipline.
  • Due to government contract requirements candidates must be a US Citizen
  • Python programming and strong math fundamentals expected.

The salary range is: $20-$30/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
