Primary Responsibilities:



  • Ownership over the maintenance and enhancement of Underwriting tools used to forecast pharmacy costs and rebates, including identifying opportunities for process efficiencies and potential solutions
  • Understand and interpret key drivers of pharmacy trends
  • Manage the development and maintenance of key actuarial assumptions
  • Leader in identifying and quantifying risk of various financial guarantee structures
  • Key thought leader in identifying financial implications of internal strategies and external influences related to the pharmacy industry
  • Provide bid-level support for adjacent teams
  • Actively participate in development of new products
  • Mentor and develop an elite team of actuaries, by helping them create unique solutions to complex problems and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences including senior leaders

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation
  • 8+ years of Actuarial experience
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of concepts and methodologies in health care



Preferred Qualification:



  • Experience in coding or managing a team of technical experts (VBA, SQL)

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
