Field Safety Representative Long Beach, CA City Light & Power (CLP) is a company at the forefront of the modern-day electric utility industry. We support electrical distribution systems owned or operated by Southern California Edison, other utilities, and the federal government on military installations. CLP is seeking a Field Safety Representative to join our growing team of Professionals to provide support for daily administration and implementation of the Safety Management Program. The Field Safety Representative will work to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements promoting a safe and healthy work environment for employees, clients, Contractors and all onsite personnel. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety training as part of orientation activities with field crews and employees on safety requirements and expectations.
- Uphold the core safety values of the organization.
- Enforce safety standards, conducts safety audits, participates in client safety meetings or conference calls, as needed; convey information from clients about their specific safety requirements on job sites or client's work.
- Proactively suggest safety improvements, process improvements, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep people safe in all facets of work.
- Assist with investigations of incidents, injuries, damage to property, or other safety-related concerns
- Assist in providing information and working with Safety Manager as needed to complete incident reports, OSHA required documentation and other reports related to safety
- Critically assess and evaluate hazards as well as taking corrective actions as needed
- Document findings
- Communicate with Leadership and field personnel about occurrences or incidents and makes recommendations on prevention for the future
- Monitor and verify corrective measures have been completed and are achieving the expected results
- Establish and maintain relationships with local and/or client safety personnel and other external resources to foster good communication between the Company and external organizations.
- Audit field crews for safety procedure adherence and document in the organization's Safety Management System.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Five (5) years' experience in a safety-related role in construction or utility industry.
- Prior experience leading safety meetings, conducting training, developing training schedules and materials.
- Journeyman Lineman experience preferred.
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Products.
- Proficient in effective email correspondence, creating safety-related communications (bulletins, alerts, etc.).
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Must have excellent organizational, verbal, written, and communications skills.
- Must be a team player and able to work with various partners from start to finish.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all reasonable conditions.
Additional Information:
- Travel between job sites expected.
- The ability to travel around the Southern CA area, attend meetings, and perform work outside typical business hours will be required.
- Will need to be available by phone after hours for emergencies and incidents.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
- You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- A valid driver's license required with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $110,000-$154,00/annual based on experience
