Overview:
The goal of the summer internship program is to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for both Bunge and the intern. The Corporate Accounting Intern will support the Corporate Accounting and External Reporting teams in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This includes assisting with the preparation, analysis, and review of financial statements, disclosures, and other SEC filings, as well as supporting various controlling projects. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic corporate environment and contribute to a crucial function within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial close: Support monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and performance of internal controls.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Support the preparation of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows, and statement of stockholders' equity.
  • SEC Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Form 10-Q and Form 8-K, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Disclosure Development: Assist in the research, analysis, and drafting of financial statement footnotes and other disclosures.
  • Technical Accounting Research: Assist in conducting research on technical accounting issues.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data, identify trends, and prepare supporting schedules and documentation
  • Internal Controls: Assist in the maintenance and documentation of internal controls.
  • Special Projects: Participate in various projects related to M&A, process improvements, system implementations, and other ad-hoc requests.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other teams within the finance organization, including Treasury, Tax, and FP&A.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Accounting.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
