A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain is responsible for the rollout and maintenance of the M2M Operations Planning process and driving OTIF at the Bridgeport site. These responsibilities include but are not limited to demand planning, capacity planning, inventory planning and supply planning. This person will be accountable for proper support/oversight of the value chain from the ERP system to the manufacturing floor. As a business, operations, and supply chain focused position, this individual will be supporting both developing strategy and executing detailed processes and procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead site Planning/Scheduling, Purchasing and Logistics talent to:
  • Oversee planning, scheduling, material, production, outside operation supplier performance, and delivery status of orders.
  • Lead the site S&OP and supply planning process, creating monthly deliverables and analyzes aligned to the global Integrated Business Planning process and time lines.
  • Establish the overall build strategy for the site in regards to what products should be make-to-stock vs. make-to-order, including an order acknowledgement and inventory management process in alignment with this strategy.
  • Establish, maintain, and own the inventory strategy for raw, WIP, and finished goods in the factory. Accountable for establishing production and purchasing plans that satisfy the inventory strategy, as well as working with customers to align their expectations for Vendor Managed Inventory minimum and maximum stock levels to the site inventory strategy.
  • Ensure execution of purchase orders in accordance with overall purchasing, inventory, and commodity strategies and supplier agreements. Provide input in the supplier agreements to ensure alignment with site business processes and objectives.
  • Evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality of delivery and reliability, holding suppliers accountable when under-performing and escalating to commodity managers when appropriate.
  • Review incoming orders and verify capacity to assure order status can be managed as required.
  • Maintain accurate information through daily communications with manufacturing teams.
  • May participate in customer interaction to drive improvement and align build strategies to their needs, and obtain missing information required for satisfactory performance from their perspective.
  • Aggregate incoming customer forecasts to assist in capacity planning.
  • Review historical trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Own and manage inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Oversee the flow of materials, subassemblies and finished goods through the manufacturing process internally and with the alignment for customer.
  • Analyze and maintain inventory levels to ensure material availability and On Time Delivery In Full while meeting inventory budgets and targets.
  • Set and maintain stock levels to ensure maximum efficiency of working capital.
  • Drive purchasing objectives and improvements in purchasing process.
  • Develop purchasing plans and programs to implement company policy and objectives.
  • Partner with commodity manager to achieve lowest cost consistent with approved quality and delivery standards.
  • Partner with Commodity Managers to identify additional sources of supply for important materials and maintain a relationship with acceptable vendors.
  • Evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality of delivery and reliability.
  • Keep informed of all new developments relative to materials and supplies and make recommendations designed to reduce costs and improve methods.
  • Support Commodity Managers in negotiations with suppliers on all conflicts or questions on prices, deliveries and specifications.
  • Responsible for inventory valuation.
  • Be the key liaison between the Supply Chain/Operations and IT for any system issue escalation and system enhancement planning and deployment.
  • Establish and optimize the use of M2M (may assist with others e.g. Syteline) functionality for Planning, Scheduling, Capacity Analysis, Demand Management, Order Management, Inventory Management and other Supply Chain functions.
  • Act as subject matter expert/user support for ERP functionality as it relates directly or indirectly to Supply Chain and Manufacturing.
  • Establish optimal inventory levels achieved necessary for targeted service levels.
  • Develop standards of operation to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with aggressive inventory plans and projects to achieve targets.
  • Establish and oversee the master scheduling process at the individual site locations and globally.
  • Ensure consistent and visible production expectations that meet the long-term supply plans.
  • Develop methodology and assist site Production Planners with systematic management of work orders and shop floor schedules.
  • Coordinate the use of M2M to maintain capacity models (primarily inside ERP) for production and supply chains at each manufacturing site.
  • Collaborate with individual sites to establish and maintain long-term supply plans using systematic planning tools.
  • Maximize the implementation of system-based analytics and reporting.
  • Generate performance metrics for Operations to monitor and control production activities.
  • Ensure master data integrity in key systems through process monitoring and control.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with management and workforces across multiple locations.
  • Communicate complex issues and solutions to multiple audiences including executive management, production management and subject matter experts.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Supply Chain Management (Required)
  • Master Supply Chain Management (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ Years of Experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, or Sourcing (Required)
  • 4+ Years of experience leading projects, supply chain development, and applying technical business acumen for understanding key levers for efficient supply and inventory management (Required)
  • 6+ Years of experience in contract and vendor management (Preferred)
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning and Material Requirements Planning Systems (Preferred)
  • 5+ Years of experience with quality systems in a highly regulated industry (i.e. Medical Devices, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, Food, or Nuclear) (Required) (Inactive) (Required)
