Overview |
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.
In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Students also have access to a robust program of applied research and outreach hosted by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station laboratories, farms, business incubators, and marine stations throughout the state. |

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Unit Admin/Specialist Casual - 4-H Bergen Office for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the NJ State 4-H Shooting Sports Program Coordinator in delivering high quality, state-level shooting sports events.
Reporting to Alyssa Glynn, NJ State 4-H Shooting Sports Program Coordinator, and Rachel Lyons, Chair of the Department of 4-H Youth Development, this role is essential in fostering positive relationships within counties and ensuring youth thrive through engaging and educational experiences. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the development of youth through shooting sports education and experiences within the renowned 4-H program.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Assists in coordinating, facilitating, and managing approximately ten annual state-level events, including: Competitive events (Junior and Senior Shooting Sports matches), New Jersey state-wide shooting sports invitational, and New Jersey Shooting Sports awards banquet.
- Oversees the coordination of National Qualifiers for senior members.
- Serves on the State 4-H Shooting Sports Advisory Council as an office liaison.
- Contributes to key decisions and strategies shaping the program's future.
- Assists in promoting and marketing the 4-H youth development shooting sports program to counties and communities.
- Manages event-related paperwork and documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

- Experience working in event management and coordination, working with volunteers and diverse audiences across all socio-economic levels, and/or working in shooting sports.

- Proficiency in computer technology for educational programming and management.
