Job Description The Special Education Coordinator for the Extended School Year (ESY) and Intervention Programs provides leadership in developing and supporting the division's special education ESY program and services, along with the Intervention Program. Qualifications Candidates should possess a master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and be eligible for endorsement as a special education teacher, school psychologist, school counselor or school social worker. Administration and Supervision endorsement preferred. The position requires a minimum of five years of experience working with children with disabilities in a school setting. Experience working in and knowledge of the purpose and function of the Extended School Year Program is required. Knowledge and experience using various methodologies with various ages of children and types of disabilities are desired. Essential Functions
Physical Conditions and Nature of Work Contacts Work is primarily performed in a school setting with occasional lifting and other physical activities. Frequent travel to school sites throughout the city may be required. Attendance at meetings outside the normal hours may be required.
