CLA is looking to hire an Experienced Associate - SALT to join our fast-growing State & Local Tax practice. Most of CLA's clients do not have an internal tax team they can go to for guidance. This means you will have the opportunity to work directly with business owners and leaders and help them get the tax guidance they need to grow their business.

How you'll create opportunities in this Experienced Associate - SALT role:

  • Be part of a State & Local Tax practice that is experiencing tremendous growth and creating opportunity for you to grow your career.
  • Manage and prepare indirect tax, income/franchise tax and property tax compliance returns utilizing various methods with multiple government agencies across the United States.
  • Research and document technical conclusions related to day-to-day state and local tax matters that arise.
  • Review and resolve jurisdictional inquiries and notices.
  • Correspond with clients on indirect tax, income/franchise tax and property tax compliance inquiries and issues as needed.
  • Work with team to ensure all returns are filed timely according to the Monthly Compliance Calendar.
  • Other related duties as appropriate to support CLA clients.

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Experience: One year of experience serving in a tax role with a public accounting firm and/or professional services firm.
  • Certification/ Licenses: CPA certification or CPA eligibility preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of State & Local Tax preferred.
