Job Description
The Manager - Clinical Quality provides front line support and functions to assure appropriate nursing practices are aligned systemically with evidenced based clinical practice and regulatory compliance. This position assist with facilitating the delivery of safe, outcomes-based practice, and participates in planning and implementing initiatives aimed at improving clinical quality outcomes and achieving departmental annual goals. This position participates in daily tasks, facilitates annual staff development recommendations, and collaborates with department leaders to establish major objectives and standards to comply with regulatory accreditation agencies. The position serves as the coordinator for unit specific orientation, competency assessments and staff development. This role possesses a horizontal leadership approach with a networking style that enables information to be transmitted quickly to other disciplines and promotes involvement of staff at all levels in decision-making. This position holds a comprehensive perspective of patients, families and caregivers and establishes strong partnerships with them to deliver optimal care. The role provides professional nursing services and patient care in a variety of settings following established nursing process, adherence to hospital or department policies, nursing procedures, standards, and practices. Responsibilities With responsibility for outcomes, this role collects, analyzes nursing sensitive outcomes data and collaborates with leadership, nursing, medical staff and other clinical teams to develop plans and improve performance Demonstrates patient advocacy in all activities and serves as a patient advocate role model. Provides support for clinical teams and serves as subject matter expert / clinical resource; facilitates knowledge transfer. Coordinates the unit specific orientation process for team members in the designated units and is responsible for staff development. Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional development and serves as a change agent. Provides support for nursing clinicians and serves as subject matter expert / clinical resource; facilitates knowledge transfer. Assists with incident investigation, reporting, and follow-up. Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development. Collaborates with quality department, education department and other organizational areas for driving improvements with patient care, nursing practice, and safety/quality outcomes Facilitates nursing practice changes based on best available evidence that will drive quality, safety, and fiscally responsible outcomes.Assist in other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the department and organization. May be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.
