Professional Development Nurse (Nurse Educator)

Gundersen Health System is seeking a RN, Professional Development Nurse (Nurse Educator) supporting the Winona and La Crosse outpatient surgery centers (OSC). This is your opportunity to work in a highly adaptable and mission driven organization while doing the work you love in the beautiful Coulee region.

What you will do:

• 1.0 FTE, salaried role
• Lead nursing orientation, education, competency, and professional development RNs, CSTs, and Perioperative Techs who work in the outpatient surgery environment.
• Evaluate nursing practice, assess practice gaps, identify learning needs, participate in process improvement projects and initiatives both within area of responsibility and at the system level
• Prepare frontline staff with the knowledge and skills to provide high quality care and outstanding care experience in a supportive, professionally satisfying environment
• Work closely with amazing teams:
  • OSC Leadership Teams (Directors, Managers, and Quality Improvement staff).
  • Surgery & Procedures Nursing Practice Subgroup (3 other Professional Development Nurses and an Informatics Nurse)

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
• Master's degree in Nursing required within 5 years
• 3-4 yearsRN experience in perioperative nursing required
• RN licensure to practice in the state of Wisconsin and Minnesota upon hire
