The ideal candidate will have a strong background within a construction federal contractor environment, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of federal regulations, compliance requirements and HR best practices. The successful candidate will possess advanced knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations in a multi-state workforce environment as well as experience with Davis Bacon and Related Acts, Federal Contractor requirements and reporting, FHWA requirements, EEO Obligations with demonstration of knowledge of obligations under governing agencies. PRIMARY DUTIES
- Contribute to audit and government reporting compliance with preparation of reports and reviewing data EEO, AAP, OFCCP, state audits etc.
- Demonstrate familiarity and effective communication of company policy and procedure
- Partner with safety, payroll and other HRBP's to resolve employee concerns and complete audits
- Ensure proper on-boarding and orientation of new employees demonstrating extensive familiarity with company benefit programs to facilitate effective utilization and understanding of all programs
- Assist in administration and processing of FMLA, ADA and other leaves of absence as well in assisting with the processing of ancillary benefit claims
- Support employees regarding employment and benefit issues
- Assist in developing and delivering annual Human Resources Employee and Supervisor training
- Participation in on-boarding/orientation of new employees
- Assist in benefit administration, processing vendor payments, processing census, enrollment and termination of employee benefits
- Assist in HR compliance and benefit audits
- Partner with management to provide guidance in resolving employee relations issues ranging from performance management, retention, talent development and employee engagement
- Guide and coach managers regarding HR process and procedures as well as how to appropriately manage and resolve complex issues (e.g., performance management, conflict management)
- Contribute to day-to-day administration of department and assist with HR projects and reporting as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
- At least five years of human resource management experience required
- Bilingual - English/Spanish is strongly preferred
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Previous experience in the construction industry and multi-state operations strongly desired
- Thorough knowledge of requirements under the EEOC, DOL, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, IRCA, COBRA
- Flexibility to work overtime and participate in overnight/weekend travel when needed or directed
- Ability and willingness to travel with some extensive overnight travel during designated times of year
- Strong judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent Business Acumen
- Advanced knowledge and ability utilizing Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Strong relationship, conflict and coaching management skills
- Strong time and project management skills
- Outgoing, friendly and approachable with strong ability to be a collaborative team member
