SUMMARY
The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) is a United States Air Force global organization that discovers, shapes and champions basic science that profoundly impacts the future Air and Space Force. AFOSR directs the Air Force's investments in basic research within government, university, and industry laboratories, and ensures the transition of those research results. Agile Defense provides IT operations, cyber security, business systems development, and internal communications support for AFOSR HQ. in Arlington Va.
Perform graphics content design, creation, and edits through to completion in support of AFOSR stakeholder requests, in support of meetings, presentations, and internal communications. Archive pictures and graphics data according to AFOSR specific processes. Provide photography services for staff headshots, conferences, presentations, and other executive level events using AFOSR supplied photography equipment. Manage and produce content for internal electronic display screens as directed by AFOSR leadership. Provide project metrics and reporting data which demonstrate business value to AFOSR leadership. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to AFOSR satisfaction.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Graphics content will be designed and created using multiple AFOSR networks and tools depending on requirements. The specialist will utilize specialized graphics software including but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Dreamweaver, MS Office, SharePoint Online, and Sedna Creator. Work will involve creating and pushing content to the AFOSR in-building hallway TV system and/or other branding mediums. Produced physical content will involve utilizing both standard and specialized printing hardware (e.g., plotter). Examples of produced graphic products include business cards, office name templates, PowerPoint presentations, banners, logos, magazine materials, flyers, brochures, posters, and event signage. Physical graphics content will require the need for precise cut out and lamination which the contractor will provide. The graphics specialist must be able to attend on-site and primarily local area AFOSR events to take pictures and videos for incorporation into graphics content. Utilizing and operating an AFOSR provided digital camera to record in HD and 4K is required. Strong writing skills are needed to support graphics and photo captions of various content. CONUS travel may be required to support special situation events but would be rare.

Education, Background, and Years of Experience

Associate degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred) in an appropriate field (Graphic Design, Communications
*
or Fine Arts with a strong emphasis in graphic design), or at least 2 years of experience in a related area
*
1-2 additional years of relevant experience as a Graphics Designer, Photographer, or Communications
*
Specialist (or related position)
*
At least 1 year experience with Adobe Creative suite tools, such as InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills

Multimedia skills, to include basic video editing and HTML for social posting.

Expertise in current trends and emerging social media techniques and strategies
Preferred Skills

Experience with the following tools:

1. Creative Cloud Suite

2. Adobe Dreamweaver

3. MS Office (including strong experience in Excel and Word)

Experience in using SharePoint Online, and Sedna display software is preferred

They must have good knowledge of photography concepts and best practices, lamination, video creation

WORKING CONDITIONS
Environmental Conditions

The employee will generally sit at a computer during the business day which therefore makes the work sedentary in nature. No significant lifting is expected.
Strength Demands

Light - 20 lbs. Maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 10 lbs. A job is light if less lifting is involved but significant walking/standing is done or if done mostly sitting but requires push/pull on arm or leg controls.
