SUMMARY
The Regional Credit Analyst Manager supervises and mentors a group of credit analysts. This position is responsible for administering the flow of work to and from credit analysts, monitoring the quality of work being produced, and aids in the hiring and training of credit analysts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reads and understands financial statements.

  • Reviews pertinent credit and financial information including financial statements, tax returns, credit bureau reports, bank reports, and other company reports.

  • Inputs financial data on PC-Based software to generate financial spreadsheet.

  • Analyzes findings and prepares in written report.

  • Identifies trends and determines key questions.

  • Reviews irregular financial information with loan officers.

  • Maintains a strong understanding of First Interstate Bank Loan Policy.

  • Underwrites complicated borrower relationships of all sizes with accuracy.

  • Completes annual term loan reviews, problem loan status reports, and loan approval forms.

  • Compiles various reports as requested.

  • Communicates with loan officers and other credit analysts.

  • Assists in the implementation and training of new software products for commercial loan analysis and the commercial lending function.

  • Acts as a resource to loan officers for loan structures and underwriting recommendations.

  • Develops a team of credit analysts.

  • Provides relevant and ongoing training to team of analysts.

  • Oversees the day-to-day management of analysts.

  • Performs portfolio management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries of complaints of customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required or

  • 10+ years years of banking experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • 10+ years experience in a similar position required

  • Supervisory and/or management experience required

  • Commercial banking experience preferred
