2nd Shift: 1:30 pm - 9:30 pm

About the role:

As a Manufacturing Technician I, you support the production floor by ensuring equipment and processes are performing as intended, with focus on equipment.Daily tasks include responding to equipment problems on the floor and supporting manufacturing engineering (ME).Most of your time is spent on the production floor working on equipment and engaging with people. The Manufacturing Tech team works with Quality and Production to ensure the factory achieves production goals (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).

With General Supervision, you will work on 2ndshift as part of a technician team in the Nitinol Shape Memory (NSM) business unit. NSM 2nd shift runs Monday-Friday from 1:30pm to 9:30pm.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Apply basic mechanical and electrical knowledge to troubleshoot and solve equipment and process problems for automated equipment
  • Perform standard/common preventative maintenance and calibration tasks on equipment
  • Ability to document common and repeat issues for resolution to create knowledge-base that can be referred to in future troubleshooting efforts.
  • Ability to communicate and describe issues or downtimes clearly and effectively to supervisors and team members, ensuring transparency and understanding.
  • Assist the cross-functional team (i.e. engineering) in executing Value Improvement Projects (VIP) to improve/revise existing processes for cost savings
  • Provide technical support or direction to operators and medical device specialists with assistance
  • Support shutdowns (which may include staying late to make sure equipment is in a safe-state
  • Mandatory Weekend OT is required on a rotation recurring basis. Current OT requirement is minimum once (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
