CDI Engineering Solutions is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.


Position Summary

The PEI (Pressure Equipment Integrity) Engineer will provide technical support for capital projects across the Refinery production areas.


Responsibilities

Provide technical support to develop design requirements for projects within the Pressure Equipment engineering disciplines. Participate in various phases of project meetings to support work scope development, design, hazard analysis, installation, and commissioning of pressure equipment. Develop, review, and approve specifications, procurement inquiry packages, and vendor submittals to ensure all technical requirements have been properly met. Ensure that fixed equipment (and materials used to fabricate fixed equipment), including pressure vessels, relief devices, piping components, valves, insulation, and refractory are purchased from vendors, suppliers, and contractors that are technically approved (per the Company's technically approved vendor / supplier list). Perform/review engineering calculations (ex. Bolted Joint integrity, piping hydraulics, pressure vessel analysis, specification of mechanical system design conditions, etc.) Leverage own knowledge base, insights from other discipline engineering peers, and work with third-party consultants (as required) on delivering quality solutions.


Qualifications

CAESAR-II, PV-Elite, Compress, Nozzle Pro software, and FFS analysis tools. Prior experience with Sharepoint, SAP and Visio would be a plus.

Knowledge of the concepts of Risk Assessment, Risk Based Inspection methodologies, Management of Change process, and Problem-Solving / Continuous improvement techniques.

Experience and proficiency with various applications like, CAESAR-II, PV-Elite, Compress, Nozzle Pro software, and FFS analysis tools. Prior experience with Sharepoint, SAP and Visio would be a plus.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects. Demonstrated skill in working with teams to achieve a common goal.

Strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.


Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years related experience in the fields of Pressure (static) Equipment Engineering and Mechanical Equipment Integrity.
