We are currently seeking candidates for a Senior Mechanical Engineering position for the design, development, and test of electronic equipment and integration kits for communication systems on military aircraft and transportable platforms. The selected candidate will work closely with a highly cross-functional team to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle. This is an ONSITE position located in Richardson, TX.

Responsibilities:

* Assignments are usually part of a larger engineering project including analysis of requirements, documentation of design, implementation, and integration of moderate to complex mechanical systems and components.

* Communicate technical topics and issues in a clear and concise manner to both technical peers as well as non-technical team members.

* Conduct and provide constructive feedback during peer reviews. Mentor and document knowledge to provide technical guidance to both members of own team and beyond.

* Interface with a cross functional team, such as Electrical and Systems engineering, to ensure requirements compliance throughout the entirety of a product's lifecycle.

* Work proactively and in a self-driven manner with an integrated product team (IPT) to manage project scope and budget, as well as identify risks and opportunities.

* Participate in and lead investigations into highly complex, open-ended tasks. Search for and identify root cause of issues.

* **Create military compliant designs that incorporate custom machined/sheet metal parts with a selection of commercial off the shelf items as required.

* Contribute to prototyping and testing activities to verify product requirements compliance.

* Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Minimum five (5) years prior relevant experience with Bachelor's degree or minimum three (3) years of experience with advanced degree or minimum nine (9) years of relevant experience in absence of a degree.

* Proven track record in developing products for DOD applications.

* Background in commercial industry standards and military electronics packaging form factors, chassis design, and electromechanical applications.

* Must have design and documentation experience on SolidWorks 3-D modeling toolset.

ACTIVE SECRET Clearance required.

Qualifications:

* **Knowledge of commercial and military electronic packaging form factors, chassis & electromechanical design and analysis methods.

* **Direct experience with printed circuit board (PCB) designs. Can support tasks not directly mechanical such as component selection and layout to ensure mechanical environmental considerations are met.

* Can apply and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.

* Knowledge of military standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1472, and RTCA DO-160.

* **Experience working with standard form factor industry standards such as EIA-310, ATR, or VITA.

* **Hands-on experience designing products that contain internal RF emissions or high power wiring.

* Hands-on experience designing to meet and qualifying products for rugged environments such as those with electromagnetic interference (EMI), electromagnetic pulse (EMP), and nuclear exposure.

* Familiar with thermal and structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA) best practices. (Ansys)

* Working knowledge of Agile development methods for hardware.

* Either familiar with or preferably experienced with Control Account Management (CAM) and earned value techniques.

* **Experience with rapid prototyping process methods, such as 3D printing, for mid-stream design verifications.

* Practical experience with designing for anti-tamper considerations for NSA compliance.

* Practical experience with designing for TEMPEST considerations for NSA compliance.
