The Co-op program at Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations is intended to provide college / university students and recent graduates the opportunity to use and develop skills they have learned in the classroom by working at our state-of-the-art production facility, and to provide Volkswagen Chattanooga the opportunity to develop talent for potential future entry-level positions.Only Rising Juniors/Seniors or Graduates (within the last 6 months) from UTC/UTK are considered for Co-op opportunity.

Summary

The Pilot Hall is the central hub for all electrical and electronic topics within the Chattanooga Plant. As part of this team, the co-op will contribute to the development of mechanical interfaces for software update systems.The ideal candidate should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. A high level of diligence and motivation is expected to successfully complete tasks within the 10-week program.

This position will start on June 2nd 2025 and end on Dec 23rd 2025.Our internships are full-time positions (40 hours/week). Candidates will be expected to be available to work during normal business hours (Monday - Friday; exact hours will vary by position and some positions might require work on Saturdays).

To be eligible for the internship program, candidates are required to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary educational institution or have graduated from one within 6 months prior to the start date of the internship. We are unable to consider OPT/CPT/International candidates

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a mechanical interface for the Software Update Center.
  • Ensure control units can be connected securely and efficiently to a central computer.
  • Optimize the interface for low connection forces, high durability, and minimal wear and tear.

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
