About This Role
The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a Clinical Assistant/Associate/Professor position in Shelter Medicine. The successful candidate will join a well-established K-State Shelter Medicine program in providing clinical learning opportunities to students in a variety of outreach settings. The successful candidate's primary role will be surgical and medical instruction to fourth year veterinary students at regional partner shelter facilities using a mobile surgical unit. Commitment to providing excellent patient care, clinical training in surgical sterilization and non-surgical considerations associated with shelter practice is paramount. Additional responsibilities will include supporting community outreach/access to care programming, providing "best practice" consultation services to regional facilities, and didactic teaching in shelter medicine topics. The successful candidate will also help oversee the associated internship training program and support staff. Generation of scholarly communication involving topics relevant to shelter medicine and/or clinical training will be encouraged. Worksite Option This position is on-site.
