FOX Sports is looking for an Associate Editor, Soccer and MLB to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The Associate Editor, Soccer and MLB will support the content strategy, planning, and execution of digital content around two prominent sports that FOX Sports covers: global/ soccer (inclusive of United States and international) and Major League Baseball. This includes the planning and execution of content around the 2026 Men's World Cup, one of the largest events in the history of the company.

The Associate Editor, Soccer and MLB is essential in supporting the overall content strategy and instrumental in maintaining the editorial budget for the respective sports of coverage. This person must have a vision and viewpoint on how best to cover and evangelize each league and sport, with an advanced knowledge of the players, rules, and top stories.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support FOX Sports Digital's content plans and execution for all major soccer tournaments, matches, and events, and the MLB, coming up with relevant topics and storylines to cover
  • Coordinate storytelling efforts for the FOX Sports App and FOXSports.com
  • Organize storytelling efforts with the digital video team and FOX Sports TV properties, incorporating video into stories and producing companion material that can run on all video platforms
  • Work across a team of editors, contract writers, and additional freelance contributors sparking creative ideas and embracing new approaches to storytelling
  • Collaborate with the social team to extend the reach of storytelling efforts, using social channels to grow the audience, extend the reach of stories, and engage users with compelling bite-size content
  • Establish the overall editorial vision and content strategy for planned original content, blending the written word, video offerings, social content, and graphics to engage users with smart and surprising stories across various platforms with a primary focus on website and app
  • Help maintain FOX Sports Digital's editorial calendar and content budget, planning for upcoming events, major milestones and content themes
  • Display outstanding news judgment, skilled storytelling abilities, thorough knowledge of digital best practices (including SEO, social platforms, and content sharing), and a strong knowledge of journalistic principles and methods
  • Recruit new talent and develop existing staff
  • Utilize analytics, research, and other data to help shape the editorial strategy for FOX Sports Digital

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 3+ years of experience in production and digital media
  • Knowledge/experience in television and broadcasting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, leadership skills, and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining effective business relationships
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $61,000.00-76,500.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $50,800.00-63,700.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
