DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, the Patient Service Coordinator interfaces with the public and other professionals and represents the clinic. Represents all Outpatient Psychiatric Services at the Hillcrest clinic, and all activities and services including liaison between providers, patients, and outside facilities. Responsibilities include opening and closing the clinic as requested, providing front desk coverage, answering telephones, general clerical duties, checking in and scheduling patients, working scheduling work queues, verifying insurances, and relaying available resources to potential and confirmed patients.

The position supports the psychiatric providers and other staff, and reports to the Clinic Manager. Interacts with the Medical and Operations Directors and performs other duties as assigned. As liaison to the community at-large, will help address patient questions, assist in determining the best access for care, provide insurance related information, and support the growth and development of all clinic work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) years related experience.

  • Proven knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans.

  • Strong problem solving ability by using good judgement.

  • Proficient computer skills and be able to work between multiple systems during calls.

  • Ability to work in an interactive environment and possess excellent customer service skills both in person and over phone.

  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a large, complex organization.

  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Epic experience.
  • Bilingual: Spanish/English.
  • Experience with Psychiatric population.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplined, fast-paced clinic with trainees.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Flexibility, as the clinics are expanding and growing; different shift schedules may be requested as we may work into the evenings or Saturdays at some point.
  • May require after-hour and weekends. Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $54,664 - $67,944 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $26.18 - $32.54

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
