POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent assists the People, Culture & Marketing Department with a wide variety of project-based tasks. This internship is designed to be educational and practical in nature, providing the incumbent with an opportunity to utilize skills acquired in school and apply them in a real world setting, with the goal of equipping him/her to take on more responsible positions upon completion.

Hourly rate of $21/hr

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Marketing Key Project: External Brand Building

    • Social Media Strategy & Design: You'll dive into the world of social media, learning how to develop effective strategies, identify target audiences, and create engaging content. You'll even have the chance to create social media content and contribute to the company's online presence.
    • Customer-Facing Communications: You'll get a taste of the real-world action by accompanying a Regional Marketing Leader on a potential customer visit or job site. You'll learn how to write compelling proposals and executive summaries, gain insight into local branding and marketing strategies, and may even get involved in planning customer events or trade shows.
    • Strategic Brand Development & Messaging: You'll explore the company's website management practices, learn about the unique challenges and opportunities of being a public company, and see how marketing plays a crucial role in investor relations.


  • Talent Development Key Project: Career Pathing

    • Aligning with Company Vision: You'll collaborate with HR leadership to understand the company's evolving vision and strategy. Then, you'll work to ensure that the career paths we offer employees are in sync with those overarching goals.
    • Connecting Learning and Competencies: You'll help identify the specific skills, knowledge, and experiences needed for success in different job families. This will involve working with subject matter experts and analyzing job descriptions to create clear, actionable career paths.
    • Communicating with Impact: You'll help develop engaging and informative materials to communicate the available career paths to employees. This might include presentations, workshops, or online resources that clearly articulate the opportunities for growth and how to achieve them.


  • Business Partner Key Project: Employee Relations

    • Employee Support: You'll partner with our experienced HR and business leaders to address employee questions and concerns regarding growth opportunities, strategy alignment, and HR policies and procedures. This will involve active listening, problem-solving, and clear communication to ensure employees feel heard and supported.


  • Confidentiality and Sensitivity: You'll learn the importance of maintaining confidentiality in sensitive employee matters, ensuring that private information is handled with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Investigation Support: You'll observe and assist HR Business Partners in conducting workplace investigations, helping to gather information, prepare questions, and draft communications. This will provide you with valuable experience in conflict resolution, data analysis, and objective communication.
  • Coaching and Development: You'll contribute to the development of Coaching & Development Plans for employees, helping to craft clear objectives and action steps to improve performance and address areas of growth. This will involve understanding performance management principles and developing effective communication strategies.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:



      • This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and printers.


      PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



      • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
      • This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


      TRAVEL:



      • This position may require up to 10% local travel.


      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



      • Actively enrolled in a 4-year program at an accredited college or university.
      • Must be a rising junior or senior, either majoring or minoring in human resources.
      • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office/Google products).
      • Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences.
      • Capable of prioritizing workload and handling numerous assignments simultaneously.
      • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
      • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion.
