OVERVIEW
Merrick & Company is seeking an Interior Design Associate to assist design teams, enhance practices and provide creative design solutions. This position will be in one of the following offices: San Antonio, TX; Chamblee, GA; Greenwood Village, CO; Las Vegas NV (WFH); A hybrid work schedule will be considered. Successful candidates must be a team player, motivated, innovative, articulate, and confident in a demanding, exciting and fast-paced environment. Typical annual pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Interior Designer will be responsible for all phases of interior design production for a variety of Federal work ranging from programming through construction administration.
- Candidate will assist in major design decisions, involving spatial, aesthetic elements, detailing of materials and coordination of building systems.
- Must have the capability of working on multiple projects of various scales and must demonstrate skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Candidate will perform building code reviews and write reports such as feasibility studies and design recommendations.
- Candidate must be able to work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule and budget commitments and must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
- Candidate will present projects with the team to clients to prepare and/or validate the proposed scope of work.
- Candidate will develop innovative interior architectural design concepts that are practical, conducive to the intended purpose or function, will be adept at addressing client goals while staying within project budget.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A desire for personal and professional growth and a well-defined understanding of design and construction document processes.
- Self-motivated and works well in a team environment.
- Experience in all aspects of general architectural and interior practice including planning, programming, schematic design, production of construction documents (drawings and specifications), and creating digital finish boards.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience, demonstrated by working in a similar role.
- Candidate must have a degree from an accredited school of Interior Design with proven knowledge of the design process.
- Skilled in written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated report writing experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply a wide range of architectural and interior principles and practices with multiple clients and projects.
- Ability to support design charrettes.
- Experience in all phases of design, with a track record of completed, successful projects.
- Working proficiently in Revit is required.
- Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Interior Designer preferred but not required.
- NCIDQ Certification
- Candidate with past federal project experience is strongly desired.
- Experience with rendering programs and Adobe Creative Suite.
