About the role:
As a Lab Team Manager you will implement activities necessary to assure the quality of laboratory testing. You will report to the Lab Manager and be located at Ogden, UT. You will support this role 100% onsite,
Key Responsibilities:
Direct department personnel to achieve quality, cost and productivity improvements consistent with plant goals.
Help establish department and individual objectives and monitor performance against those goals.
Create an environment that encourages and supports employee participation through involvement implementing change.
Develop and implement plans for meeting customer requirements while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental and government regulations.
Responsible for the skill and career development of employees reporting to this position, directly, or through others.
Collaborate with other departments to meet plant/division goals.
Maintain high employee morale in an environment of dynamic production load requirements and technological changes.
Implement solutions to long- and short-term technical issues often requiring the obtaining of resources from outside of the department.
Must communicate both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization and interfaces with customers and auditors.
Must implement change following our needs and the strategic plans of the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree - preferred in chemistry, engineering, or other STEM focus.
5 yrs experience in laboratory or manufacturing process environment.
Knowledge of Westinghouse customers, products, suppliers, and sites.
Fundamental knowledge of business and performance improvement technology and applications.
Strategic implementation and cost savings.
Knowledge of chemistry, engineering, manufacturing, and Lean Enterprise techniques.
