Our Purpose:

The EH&S department works closely with all departments across the site to ensure the site meets all requirements of local and federal environmental, health and safety laws and regulations. BSC Coventry, a Medical Device Sterilization site, uses hazardous chemicals as a part of its main process, making the EH&S team a critical aspect of the day-to-day operations of the site.

As an EH&S Intern at Boston Scientific, you will...



  • Learn how to work within a corporate environment, how to effectively work with key stakeholders and implement change.
  • Learn the ins and outs of how to effectively manage EH&S programs within a chemical processing plant.
  • Learn how to create and deploy effective and impactful safety trainings.
  • Learn about Internation Standards for Environmental Health and Safety (ISO) and Zero Waste certification.
  • Gain experience in auditing, public speaking, leveraging business systems and tools etc.


Your Impact

Examples of meaningful work that may be done by the EH&S intern:



  • Evaluation of work processes and practices, updating work instructions and training to reflect best practice.
  • Create a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Job Matrix and recommend updates to PPE usage and storage.
  • Assist in International Standard Organization (ISO) audits and preparation.
  • Conduct daily field audits and work with EHS team to complete Continuous Improvement (CI) items.
  • Evaluate waste streams and propose operational changes to help the site gain its Zero Waste certification.
  • Develop criteria for, implement, and perform internal audits for programs such as process safety management, chemical safety management and various EHS topics.


Required Qualifications:



  • Currently in an undergrad degree majoring in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene and Chemical/Environmental Engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Specifically Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work on-site throughout the duration of the internship of May 19- August 8th.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered).


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Desire to work in fast-paced Cross-Functional Teams to maintain and support quality-engineering methodologies, systems, and practices that meet BSC, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent technical written and communication skills.
  • Detail Oriented.

The anticipated annualized base amount or range for this full time position will be $58,240.00 to $64,480.00.plus variable compensation governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives) as well as the value of core and optional benefits offered at BSC, which can be reviewed at www.bscbenefitsconnect.com. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
