What this job entails. The Managing Director, Life Sciences is accountable for driving business growth, building trusted multi-layered relationships, and leading high-performing teams that deliver exceptional client service. They mentor, coach and manage Account Directors on how to drive account growth, manage teams, engage clients, handle escalations, and deliver best-in-class service. They are deeply engaged in business development, solutions development, negotiating scope and commercial terms, and winning renewals and new engagements.

Primary Responsibilities:

Establishes and Nurtures Strong Client Relationships

  • Meet frequently with client C-Suite executives to highlight results.
  • Ensure the vision and strategy of account plans are implemented and align with client objectives.
  • Present both thought leadership and practical solutions to shape clients' buying vision over time and position growth opportunities.
  • Proactively solicit and respond to feedback from client utilizing voice of the customer and client care programs to drive loyalty.
  • Achieve active reference status with clients demonstrating best-in-class service delivery that can be leveraged to expand our business.
  • Measurably improve client retention evidenced by client satisfaction surveys and net promoter scores.

Grows the Business

  • Recognize opportunities for organic account growth, then articulate the value propositions and ensure implementation.
  • Make the case of compelling market differentiation to influence buying preferences.
  • Accelerate Life Sciences industry specialization and further industry eminence.
  • Proactively prepare for client renewals striving for and securing no-bid renewals.
  • Develop innovative strategies to ensure year-over-year growth on the accounts.
  • Partner with the solutions development teams and leverage external networks to further sales and business development efforts.
  • Support pursuits globally by providing operational input to solutions development teams.
  • Drive revenue growth across the division, identifying opportunities on- and off-accounts engaging the right cross-functional resources to win.
  • Visibly lead at industry events through speaking roles and on social media as an expert in the Life Sciences industry.

  • Own responsibility for the profit, loss and growth of account portfolio.
  • Invest in the client relationship to drive growth and profitability while reducing the cost to serve, maximizing JLL's long term value to the client.

Develops and Leads High Performing Teams

  • Simplify and improve service delivery (consistency, repeatability and reliability) improving our ability to effectively scale.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent for all key roles and ensure succession planning.
  • Create high-performing, integrated teams that are committed to delivering sustainable operational excellence.
  • Manage and coach Account Directors on their performance progress and developmental goals including analyzing strengths and areas of opportunity, turning the results of the analysis into actionable career development plans.
  • Manage Account Director rotations in a pro-active and structured manner to avoid client disruptions.
  • Accountable for networking with diverse external candidates to improve the workforce talent.
  • Align specializations and subject matter experts with client needs across the division.

Job Requirements

Education

  • A bachelor's degree and a broad range of business experience acquired through demonstrable work experience or an MBA.
  • Evidence of continued pursuit of industry knowledge and trends.

Estimated total compensation for this position:

260,000.00 - 360,000.00 USD per year

The total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
