Job Duties:

• Perform technical analysis on the functional proposals of the Product
• Owner (PO) & Functional Analysts (FA).
• Collaborate with the PO & FAs when the functional proposals need
• adjustment to make them align with the technical capabilities of the
• platform.
• Transform the functional and technical analysis into stable software,
• within a sprint time box of 4 weeks, delivering business value.
• Perform code reviews on the software created by peers.
• Pro-actively provide test ideas.
• Perform various levels of testing to guarantee stable software is
• released, this includes executing the test ideas described in a change
• request.
• Perform various levels of testing to meet the quality attributes and non-
• functional requirements as defined by the Technical Architect (TA).
• Create technical documentation that describes how software and
• hardware work together to have a working Warehouse Management
• System - (WMS) and Warehouse Control System - (WCS).
• Go on-site and collaborate with the TVH's hardware team when
• calamities occur with the Automated Storage and Retrieval System -
• (ASRS) in the Olathe branch.
• Coach less experienced software engineers on the team.
• Migrate the company's WMS & WCS from OpenEdge to Korber without
• financial loss for the company.
• Work on integrations between the current homebrew solution, Korber,
• and Oracle components.
• Participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Domestic and international travel required up to 10%. Telecommuting
• permitted up to 40%.

Job Requirements:

• Employer will accept a Bachelors degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Software Engineer-related occupation.
• Alternatively, the employer will accept no degree and 7 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Software Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires the following:

• 60 months of experience with software development using OpenEdge.
• 60 months of experience with creating stable software starting from functional and technical analysis documents.
• 24 months of experience building or maintaining a homebrew Warehouse Management System (WMS) or Warehouse Control System (WCS) using OpenEdge.
• 12 months of experience working in an Agile environment, in either SCRUM or Scaled Agile Framework.

Position also requires demonstrable experience in the following:

• Assessing the feasibility, impact, and data model implications of functional proposals.
• Formulating and executing a test strategy for new software.
• Writing technical documentation that describes a software system in a logistics setting.
• Collaborating with all members of a software development team including the product owner, the functional analysts, the testers, and other developers.
• Providing a high-level estimate of the complexity and time needed for user stories or epics.
• Conducting peer reviews to ensure code adherence to coding standards, and best practices.
• Actively participating in knowledge sharing activities, including pair programming.
• Domestic and international travel required up to 10%. Telecommuting permitted up to 40%.
