Job Title: Healthcare Program Coordinator (Safety /Quality Programs)

Pay Rate: $34.00/hr on W2 without benefits

Location:1 Capitol Hill Providence RI 02908

Duration: 08+ months (possible extension)

Hours/Week: 35 hrs./week

Must have:

  • Program coordination experience.
  • Healthcare Safety program.
  • Healthcare Quality program.
  • Master's degree.


Job Summary:

  • Client has retained Knowledge Services to provide a Licensing Program Development Coordinator to support the Center for Professional Boards and Licensing. This position will look to improve present programs/processes and create new programs/processes to provide better services to the people of the state in the most effective and efficient manner possible.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Within the Licensing Unit, to be responsible for the total planning, program development and research including reviewing and improving processes and developing standard operating procedures.
  • To monitor the Licensing Unit work for program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • To study and analyze operational procedures and prepare detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations.
  • To coordinate the work of the Licensing Unit with the rest of the Department and other state agencies as needed.
  • To review and evaluate state and federal laws, rules and regulations to ensure compliance with the provisions of these rules, laws and regulations in the plans and proposals.
  • To determine the effectiveness of policies, procedures and methods and to initiate alterations as determined by professional review.
  • To perform varied public relations duties including speaking with visitors to the Licensing Unit in person, by phone, or via email.
  • Attend meetings as the representative for the Licensing Unit when the Manager is unavailable.
  • To do related work as required.


Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of program planning and development.
  • Ability to evaluate existing programs and to develop plans for their expansion, modification, or elimination.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department officials.
  • Ability to coordinate current and proposed programs with other departments when necessary.
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple topics and databases.
  • Ability to work independently.


Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in public administration, business administration, one of the social sciences, or a closely related field.
  • Experience gained through employment in a responsible capacity involving program development in a field of human service.
  • Or any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and experience.
