Job Overview Cambium Learning Group is seeking a commercial contracts attorney with 5-7 years of in-house experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of software and commercial agreements in the public sector. As a legal advisor, this role will require providing timely legal guidance and thought partnership with business partners and leadership. This position will be remote in the U.S. Job Responsibilities Negotiating and drafting public sector sales contracts and licensing agreements, including data privacy terms and agreements. Advising and drafting responses to public sector requests for proposals. Negotiating and drafting other commercial and software agreements, such as vendor, reseller and publishing agreements. Serving as legal liaison to business partners regarding legal requirements, best practices, and strategies for managing risk. Assisting in ongoing business relationships with customers, resellers, licensees, vendors and other business partners Working collaboratively with a highly motivated team within a fast-paced company. Creating and maintaining contract templates and processes. Job Requirements Education: law degree from a U.S. law school and admission to the bar of at least one state is required. Prior experience: 5-7 years of in-house attorney experience drafting, reviewing and managing public sector commercial and other contracts and/or responding to RFPs. Experience with state and district level data privacy agreements is preferred but not required. Education technology (K-12) industry experience (including working knowledge of FERPA, COPPA and CCPA) is preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal communications and relationship-building skills to establish cross-cultural relationships with clients at all levels Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work and manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressures. Highest integrity.
