Position Summary

Apogee's Data Strategy & Governance organization focuses on implementing processes and solutions for Data Governance, Master Data Management and Data Analytics.

This Data Engineer will fill a critical role in enhancing and supporting the Data Analytics environment for prioritized Apogee Data Domains; educating our IT & Business Partners; implementing and supporting future Data Integration and Data Analytics solutions; and consulting on data-related projects from the data engineering perspective across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and robust data pipeline architectures, ensuring data quality and consistency across multiple data sources
• Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop robust data models for enterprise use
• Help implement best practices for data governance, data security, and data privacy, ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards
• Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to support data ingestion, transformation, and integration from various sources, including APIs, databases, and external data providers
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime
• Organize and monitor testing, training, documentation, and sign offs related to data platforms
• Configure and implement data management and analytic platform changes
• Document data pipeline architectures, workflows, and procedures for internal and external stakeholders
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the integration of data-driven insights into business processes and decision-making

Experience & Skills

Experience:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field or relevant experience
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex data pipelines
• Strong expertise and demonstrated experience in Microsoft SQL, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
• Proficient in the Microsoft Azure framework (e.g., Analysis Service, Data Factory, DevOps ...) or similar services
• Experience with Snowflake Data Cloud or similar platform
• Experience with the Microsoft Power BI data visualization tool (preferred)

Required skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• A strong desire to stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in data engineering

Pay Range

• $85,000 - $115,000
