Description *Production Assistant* Company: Hitachi Particle Engineering and Services, Inc. Department: Manufacturing Location: Pleasanton, CA Status: Regular, Full-Time Position Summary: Under limited supervision, the production assistant is responsible for supporting production processes on the manufacturing floor by performing tasks like kitting, shipping and receiving, maintaining inventory, allocation and distribution functions. Assists Manufacturing team with electrical and mechanical assemblies as needed. Performs other general tasks in the Operations environment. Responsibilities: Sort, count, and check raw materials, finished and semi-finished parts Checks shelves for adequate inventory and assists in the preparation of purchase orders and requisitions Route material throughout the stockroom and production areas Builds production kits from bills of materials and maintains the necessary clerical records Check goods received against bills of lading, purchase orders or other documents to verify correctness of incoming shipments Records movement of incoming and outgoing materials and supplies. Verifies accuracy of work performed Assist Mechanical Production with part fabrication and processing Assist Electrical Production with cable routing, cabinet assembly and installation Assists Purchasing with vendor control, timely receipt of material and vendor returns as needed Performs product, part and system shipment to customers Receive, unpack and issue materials and supplies in stockroom and warehouse Accounts for and keeps parts and materials in good order to provide for the requirements of manufacturing assemblers and engineering Work with cross-functional teams/inter-departments May be required to operate a forklift Performs other duties as assigned or directed Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Entry level experience with assisting production is preferred Ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task successfully Complex English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills Strong critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail Movement within office complex, manufacturing and in confined spaces throughout facility Willingness to learn Lift and carry up to 35 lbs routinely Communicate by telephone and in person EOE Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities For California only (as required by California's Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act (SB 1162): The expected salary for this position in our California office is $50,000 - $60,000. Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi America's variable pay program, subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
