Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Administrator Intern to join our IT team. This internship offers hands-on experience in managing and maintaining network systems, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a real-world environment.
Responsibilities:
- Documentation: Document network configurations, changes, troubleshooting steps, and network topology.
- Network setup and configuration: Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Network monitoring: Monitor network performance using monitoring tools to identify potential issues and troubleshoot problems.
- Troubleshooting support: Provide first-line support for network connectivity issues, diagnose problems, and implement solutions.
- Network security: Participate in network security practices by implementing basic security configurations and following security protocols.
- Data analysis: Analyze network performance metrics to identify trends and potential issues.
- Project assistance: Support larger network projects by performing tasks like cable management, device testing, and data migration.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a computer science or related degree program with a focus on networking
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Familiarity with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls)
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Ability to articulate and document Network related documentation
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with other IT team members
