Position Overview:

TheSenior Distillation System Supervisorcollaborates with a team to ensure exceptional service and stakeholder satisfaction. They are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment used for tasks related to the distillation system and processing, safeguarding their well-being and that of all internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

  • Proactively foster a learning safety culture by modeling a safe work ethic and promoting the value of open reporting and shared safety responsibility.
  • Follow all safety policies, standards, and procedures in order to achieve a safe and healthy work environment for all staff, customers, and visitors. Similarly, support Inland's environmental commitments by helping to limit our organization's impact on the ecosystem
  • Actively promote adherence to and hold site employees accountable for leading safety and regulatory compliance with all local, provincial, and federal rules and regulations
  • Ensure that Inland is following all Government Labor, Health, and Safety laws, regulations, and policies
  • Abide by Inland's procedural handbooks, operational plans, and management to ensure that all work is done according to specifications and/or regulations
  • Assign duties and monitor performance of Processing Operators to ensure work is completed according to standard operating procedures (SOP's)
  • Ensure all operators' paperwork is completed and filed promptly and accurately
  • Ensure all reporting, record keeping, and communications are complete, accurate, and timely as per company policies
  • Work co-operatively with all other staff involved in the completion of assigned duties
  • Professionally operate, maintain, and instruct operators on using all processing equipment
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all processing equipment
  • Schedule, perform, and instruct operators with light maintenance tasks on Processing Equipment and to immediately report any major repair requirements
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all processing equipment
  • Ensure that adequate spare parts are available so that processing doesn't experience any downtime due to failed mechanical equipment
  • Transfer fluid from the collection pond and into Inland's storage vessels well before the risk of overfill. The volume and concentration must always be recorded for every load. The collection pit must be emptied of solids on a regular basis
  • Constantly monitor distillation operational parameters to ensure within target performance levels. As needed, recognize when operational parameters are trending outside operational norms and make adjustments or corrective actions proactively
  • Engage with other technical experts or engineering as needed for guidance to optimize the performance of our systems
  • Oversee the daily tracking and recording of fluids transferred and processed
  • Assist with the glycol recycling processes, including concentrator and sanitary machine operations
  • Assist in the production of Inland proprietary fluids as required
  • Represent the Company in a courteous and professional manner
  • To accomplish any other tasks that may, from time to time, be assigned by management

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4+ years of fluid processing experience
  • Previous supervisory and/or management experience in a similar industry
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and show good judgement
  • Mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of processing/mechanical systems (motors, pumps, heat exchangers, measurement instrumentation, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment:

  • The Senior Distillation System Supervisor will have a mixture of operational and office duties. While much of the job will be spent in the field ensuring that operational goals are being achieved, time will also be spent on office tasks. There may be exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration).
  • The noise level in the work environment can be excessive at times.
  • There will be times when the Senior Distillation System Supervisor will be required to work outside of their normal work schedule so that we may meet the needs of our customers and/or operational requirements.

Physical Demands:

  • It is expected that the candidate be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements
  • The position involves standing or sitting for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, and reaching with hands and arms
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Wearing of personal protective equipment when required and full mobility allowing for freedom of movement in high-risk environment
  • Must be able to speak clearly and hear efficiently
  • Must have the ability to climb 15-foot heights for work
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • May be required to move,connect, disconnect hoses and be able to operate industrial valves and perform general labor duties.
