The Property/Casualty Loss Control Specialist is responsible for driving profitable growth of Munich Re Specialty - North America's (MRSNA's) Property and Casualty business. This individual will be a critical resource to underwriters for risk selection, training and education, and industry insights. Reporting to MRSNA Head of Loss Control, this person will contribute to the development and deployment of loss control resources to best service internal and external clients across multiple business units. Responsibilities Internal Customer Responsibilities:
Partner with the underwriting teams to provide reliable technical safety/risk management guidance and recommendations Serve as a resource to the underwriting teams for individual account reviews to assist in profitable risk selection
Oversee survey management system to best organize survey reports, recommendation letters to insureds, tracking and trending of follow up actions, invoicing, and updates to loss control recommendations Develop strategies to offer insureds loss control resources to comply with survey recommendations Collaborate with the underwriting teams at client meetings by demonstrating MRSNA's subject matter expertise and loss control offerings Evaluate and communicate key marketplace trends to related business units including liability, regulatory, legal, and other issues impacting the lines of business offered by MRSNA Partner with other MRSNA internal teams (Corporate Underwriting, Governance/Audit, Claims, Product Development, E&S Property and Casualty Underwriting, Marketing, etc.) to ensure high quality delivery of holistic value propositions, including the development of new products and services Analyze loss and claims data, assess the possibility of future losses, and make recommendations to mitigate potential risks Manage Loss Control SharePoint site and Resource Library by maintaining content and access for users Partner with the loss control experts with resource development, building loss control tools, general research, and webinars Other duties as assigned

Client Engagement Responsibilities:
Develop a formal program for safety and risk management service offerings for insureds within assigned portfolios Formulate customized safety and risk management service plans for insureds Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship with safety and risk management services to insured clients, including telephone and email consultations, educational in-servicing, liability audits/assessments, implementation of and maintenance of a comprehensive safety and risk management program, loss control interventions and procedures to monitor outcomes
Industry Relations / Marketing Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team to develop, execute, and maintain the business marketing plan Represent MRSNA at local and national professional association events Actively participate/lecture on behalf of MRSNA at marketing events Publish scholarly articles and other pertinent educational materials to the industry
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., loss control, risk management, data analytics) 10 yrs. of experience with a primary insurance carrier working in a loss control role Experience with loss control/risk mitigation techniques within property and casualty lines to provide assessment of high hazard risks and emerging exposures Knowledge of property and casualty loss control services and best practices for third party liability across a broad array of industries and classes Preferred experience in one or more of the following areas: premises and completed operations liability, product liability coverages; especially in the habitational, hospitality, contractors, and manufacturing industries, construction - builders risk and/or single project general liability, fire protection and prevention, natural hazard exposures, and insurance to value replacement cost analysis Knowledge of 3rd Party Administrators' network of loss control vendors within the US to deploy services to our E&S Property and Casualty clients Experience working through loss control regulatory/safety regulations, industry standards, and loss prevention techniques Relevant certifications like Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to safety and loss control Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful insights to complete trend and causal analyses Energetic and enthusiastic initiative-taker with ability to work with multiple levels of management and oversee multiple tasks Proven record of collaboration and coordination across an enterprise or large division with strong presentation skills Ability to organize, prioritize, communicate, and meet established deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Excel skills required and Power BI and SharePoint preferred Persuasive communication skills and an eagerness to work with others to find solutions Time management and organizational skills are critical Willingness to travel 10% - 15%
The Company is open to considering candidates in numerous locations, including NYC, San Francisco and Chicago. The salary range posted below reflects market variations across various locations. This role is designated for NYC, San Francisco and Chicago and reflects multiple geographies. The offer will be adjusted per geography. The base salary range anticipated for this position is $135,600 - $226,100, plus opportunity for company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay. In addition, the company makes available a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO). The salary estimate is adjusted to reflect the varying market conditions across different locations, with the with the higher end being more aligned with the New York City job market. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
