Academic Tutor (part-time)

• Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and members of the community.
• Provide tutoring services to designated students.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with students, Program Advisors, and Instructors.
• Maintain records to track student participation in tutoring.
• Consult with instructors in preparation for tutoring and/or supplemental instruction and to develop short video tutorials.
• Promote and encourage student participation in tutoring and/or supplemental instruction through classroom presentations and/or other approved methods.
• Coordinate group study sessions throughout the semester.
• Submit reports and all required documentation on a timely basis.
• Attend scheduled trainings.
• Refer students to appropriate college resources as needed.
• Participate in other program and campus activities and events, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate's degree or equivalent education (60 hours) including successful completion of college-level coursework in the related field.
• Grade of "B" or higher earned in content area(s).
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
• Must be in good standing as of the last semester attended.
• Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, organizational, customer service, and academic/technical skills related to the program and/or courses for which they will tutor.
