Summary of Position:

Provide student and staff assistance in use of PC software and explain solutions. Troubleshoot PC hardware, peripheral equipment and software as needed. Provide lab support for staff and students in the use of all PC software packages. Update and maintain network and computer related information with off-site technicians. Assist supporting the campus phone system and the Lunda Center computers and electronic equipment.


Essential Functions

1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.

2. Perform office function's which may include, but are not limited to: respond to internal/external customers and staff; create and modify documents, records, and reports using College standard software; maintain hard copy and/or electronic filing system; monitor inventory and budget information; schedule, coordinate, and prepare materials for meetings and/or appointments.

3. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.

4. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.

5. Computer Systems Support - Supporting Duty Statements:

  • Troubleshoot on site and remotely, malfunctioning PCs, networked printers, campus wide network problems, and related campus issues.
  • Maintain campus specific software license records.
  • Tutor/Instruct students/staff and Lunda Customers on hardware.
  • Check and install new PCs, printers, new hardware and peripherals and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot ITV/Lunda Center computers, demonstrate use technology equipment. Report all major issues to IMC for problem tracking.
  • Tutor new students regarding questions on various college systems.
  • Communicate/coordinate with other campuses on technology related matters and external technicians to assist with requested changes on campus.

6. Mac/Apple Admin - Supporting Duty Statements:

  • Create and maintain instruction documentation for Mac equipment.
  • Manage resale of older Mac equipment.
  • Manage, maintain, troubleshoot and support the campus Apple environment.
  • Manage the Jamf setup of Mac and iPad devices.
  • Setup and deployment of Mac and Apple devices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in related field OR
  • Education in related field combined with appropriate occupational experience totaling 2 yrs OR
  • Related occupational experience totaling 2 yrs

Special Instructions/About Western

This position reports to: Chief Information Officer
Starting annual salary range based on education and experience: $21.95 - $27.61

This position would include competitive salary, along with a wide variety of benefits available to full-time Western Technical College Employees.
