This position entails creating language that will be employed in our reinsurance and direct distribution channels, covering new product implementations, enhancements, and the expansion of partner companies into new states.This role is responsible for development of highly customized coverage and policy language for our top tier, most sophisticated partner insurance companies, including reinsurance, assumed and direct. As a key member of top tier customer Client Integration Teams (CIT), consults with partner carrier counterparts to provide HSB's coverage in the most efficient way and to ensure Dept of Insurance form filing compliance while meeting operational implications of our partner carriers. Focuses on custom crafting the coverage/ policy language and form filing compliance for all HSB products.

For HSB's direct distribution products, develops and provides required comprehensive form filing materials such as form filing memorandums, transmittal documents, policy form and ancillary documents to be filed with the respective state Departments of Insurance.

For direct and reinsured products, responsible for responding to state Department of Insurance objections received around our policy language, and if necessary consults with product management, underwriting and/or legal to resolve such objections to ensure approval. In addition this role is responsible for implementing regulatory requirements into the standard policy language and creating required endorsements, notices or schedules based on regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience with insurance/reinsurance forms
  • Experience working independently and within a team environment

Knowledge and Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of developing insurance forms, maintaining regulatory compliance and authoring policy language.
  • Experience working with complex forms
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Skilled communicator with excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse groups, including internal and external stakeholders
  • Deep product or product family expertise within the Global Corporate Underwriting division.
