The Consumer Experience Insights (CXI) team at SCAN is dedicated to leveraging data and advanced analytics to enhance the member experience and drive data-led business decision-making. Our team transforms consumer insights into actionable strategies, elevating every facet of SCAN's service delivery.
Position Overview:
As an Intern Data Scientist in the CXI team, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects that impact our members' experiences. This role is designed for a postgraduate student in a STEM discipline who is passionate about data science and eager to apply their skills in a practical setting. You will collaborate with experienced data scientists and cross-functional teams to extract, analyze, and interpret complex data sets, contributing to the generation of meaningful insights that drive business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Assist in analyzing structured and unstructured Voice of the Customer (VOC) data to uncover insights and trends that inform business strategies.
- Support Advanced Analytics Projects: Contribute to the development and implementation of advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives under the guidance of senior team members.
- Survey Development and Data Collection: Help design and implement VOC surveys, ensuring data is collected accurately and efficiently.
- Dashboard Creation: Assist in building and maintaining dashboards that provide comprehensive insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Work with cross-functional teams to utilize data insights for business process improvements and foster a culture of data-driven decision-making.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support various business needs and explore new opportunities for data-driven insights.
- Data Integration: Support the integration of diverse data sets to facilitate timely insights and influence key decisions and strategies.
- Quality and Access Initiatives: Participate in efforts to improve member access and satisfaction through data analysis, focusing on CAHPS surveys and identifying key drivers for enhancement.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen interest in data science and machine learning.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
