Full Pay Range: $63,000 - $92,000 annually

About the Position

If you seek to lead people and inspire teamwork, your skills and expertise may be an excellent resource for the Maricopa County Library District(MCLD)! As our Virtual Library Branch Supervisor, you will focus on overseeing a team of dedicated Library Assistants working in the Call Center, answering all incoming calls to the Library District. Major projects include coordinating some district- and countywide initiatives and services, including circulating shared resources. This position will be based at MCLD Administration, either at the Ed Robson Library or White Tank Library, and requires some travel between branches.

This position primarily follows a set work schedule Monday through Friday, 8AM - 5PM.

We Require

  • One year of professional library experience

  • Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Associated (ALA) accredited school

Job Contributions

  • Monitors service delivery of Call Center staff, and optimizes for excellent customer experience and efficiency

  • Interviews, trains, supervises and evaluates assigned Virtual Branch staff

  • Provides exceptional customer service by responding to customer queries and concerns, assisting customers with digital devices and promoting all material types and products

  • Schedules staff and authorizes leave to ensure an equitable distribution of work and adequate staffing

  • Assists with establishing, evaluating and revising branch goals, objectives, policies and procedures

  • Identifies needs and provides recommendations for improving branch operations (use of space, equipment, staffing, training etc.)

  • Plans and coordinates programs and services for the public

  • Acts as a liaison to outside organizations and serves on standing and/or ad-hoc committees

  • Oversees maintenance, safety and security of the branch

Working Conditions

  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

  • Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly and requires walking/standing to a significant degree
