About the Position
In this position, you will assist Correctional Health Services (CHS) to fulfill its mission of providing medically necessary, evidence based, integrated health care to patients going through the judicial system.You will ensure thatCHS responds to urgentmedicalneeds, provides necessary continuity of care services for thosepatients with chronic care conditions, and providesappropriate medical services that may emerge duringa patient's stay in the county jail system. Please note this position is part-time. We highly encourage candidates with a specialty in ortho, cardiology, OBGYN, dermatology, or family medicine in women's health.

We Require
Doctor's degree from an accredited School of Medicine or of Osteopathic Medicine Completion of an approved U.S. Residency or Fellowship Training Program in a primary care field Valid, unrestricted Physician license to practice medicine in the State of Arizona

Job Contributions
Obtains history and completes physical examinations of patients incarcerated in Maricopa County jails Evaluates and treats patients as medically indicated in compliance with CHS policies and procedures Documents patient encounters according to CHS protocols in a SOAPE format in the progress notes or on the appropriate CHS clinical form Develops and updates individualized treatment plans for patients with chronic conditions or special needs Orders onsite lab work, treatments, and medications as medically indicated Refers to outside specialists, outside diagnostic studies, and other outside services as medically indicated Works alternative shifts in the clinical setting as needed at any facility, including occasional weekend coverage Performs minor procedures such as sutures, incision and drainage of abscesses, simple splints, punch biopsies, and pelvic exams Takes periodic after hours call for the patients in Maricopa County jails Participates in peer review, in-service training, quality improvement processes, and other meetings necessary to improve patient care Maintains applicable licensure and skills according to the requirements by state law, department policies, and licensure agencies Supervises Physician Assistants as assigned by the Medical Director
Working Conditions
The work and social environment will consist of being constantly indoors in a confined area handling multiple or complicated tasks, handling a high volume of work, time pressures with frequently changing unscheduled tasks, require decision making, being vigilant in a teamwork atmosphere Will frequently work with interruptions and in close physical proximity with others and requires working overtime or rotating shifts Will occasionally be isolated, in a dangerous environment, experience physical emergencies or traumatic subject matter, experience chemicals or fumes, smoke or dust, wet or damp areas, stairs or ladders Must be able to obtain Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through CHS and maintain certification Must successfully complete a fingerprint background check Must possess a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification
